FEAST!!! FUN!!!FAMILY!!!
…Love is cultivated in a Home
where happiness is humbly shared.
St. Augustine’s Week celebration is a
signifying traditional event of the University of San Agustin for numerous
years. It is celebrated in honor and veneration of the University’s patron
saint, St. Augustine. This event ignites Augustinian Community with enthusiasm
to pave fruitful thanksgiving activities for St. Augustine. And indeed, every
year’s patron saints celebration is truly memorable.
Series of events are usually held
during the 5-day celebration. Everyone is in the mood of rejoicing in a feast
filled with Augustinian virtues. Perhaps, anyone can say that this is a remarkable
one! But what truly makes the whole thing huge is the amazing gathering of
Augustinians in a peculiar banquet, “SALO-SALO.” It is a blissful one, as if St. Augustine is
literally present in every college department. Nevertheless, it is held with
him as the inspiration.
Merrymaking! Salo-Salo creates a
beautiful a scenario where love and joy are unselfishly shared. Just like St.
Augustine who’s filled with humility in making others happy, the Augustinians including
students, teachers, school administrators, staffs, and priests are glad to bring
food and drinks for everyone to partake on. In this kind of gathering, anyone can meet new
friends and have mischievous yet meaningful experiences! And not to mention,
you can eat all you can!
A family in a home…It is what SALO-SALO brings about. It is
where love is selfless and never selfish. It is where anyone can shot big
smiles and flash joyful faces. No one is a stranger. Everyone is a family member.
Quite unusual, but it’s a fact to say that love comes out when you give without
asking anything in return.
Moreover,
Salo-Salo unites the Augustinian family. It unfolds the true spirit of being a
loving individual. It creates harmony amidst
diversity.
